This
position was funded by the rector's sabbatical grant to complement
the work of an interim rector. Parishioners of all ages took part
in regular open studio activities, evening and all-day creative
events and a community mandala quilt project. Over 100 people
of all ages created more than 128 mandalas. Many people made more
than one, opting to take one or more home, some created on paper
instead of the fabric squares. Through the efforts of some sewing
angel parishioners, the finished mandalas were quilted into two
large hangings that were used during the services on Epiphany
Sunday. Two stoles were also made using mandalas and presented
to The Reverend Dr. Gale Davis Morris and Sabbatical Priest Reverend
Albert Daviou to commemorate this special time of growth and renewal
in the life of the parish.
I
continue to return periodically to design and facilitate activities
that conducive to spiritual openness and reflection for adults
of all artistic levels.
